Now the New York Fashion Week is without a home and not even a penny to their name. To make matters even worse, Mercades Benz announced this morning that they were going to drop their sponsorship. (GASP) According to Refinary 29, who got their information from Buro 24/7, the company that owns Mercades Benz (WME-IMG) wants to attract a younger audience. In doing so, there are rumors that they will team up with New York Fashion Week's rival: MADE Fashion Week. MADE is owned by MILK studios and appears to cater to a younger demographic. This fashion week happens in the edgier parts of downtown and is set up in tents. Some designers have already transferred to this hip new scene. Basically, Mercades Benz is doing what all men do which is leave New York Fashion Week for a younger, hotter model. If the rumors are true, New York Fashion Week has a lot of work cut out for them in 2015.
